Books to Inspire: Re-stocking the Library
Following on from last week's newsletter, please find the recommended reading books we are looking for to re-stock our library with high-quality books. We would welcome any donations if you have any of these books at home that you no longer use. You can also support the re-stocking of the library by buying the books from Barn Owl Books in Malmesbury who have kindly offered us a 20% discount. They will keep track of which ones we are still looking for.

Remembrance Day
Today we held a Remembrance Service in school and visited the church to see the poppies, information and artefacts on display. It was both informative and beautiful. During our service, we shared the story of the poppy and marked a two minute silence in remembrance of those who have fallen or suffered in conflict. Thank you to our Year 6 readers who contributed to our service by reading 'In Flanders Fields' and 'For the Fallen'.
Roz Savage Visit and Talk
Yesterday Roz Savage, our local MP came to visit us. After a tour of the school, she gave a talk to Diamond Class about her incredible achievement rowing across three oceans, environmental campaigning and life as an MP. Our pupils quizzed Roz on everything from her views on Lime Down Solar Park to the animals she encountered on her ocean travels. It was a really interesting afternoon which left us all feeling inspired.
